The RN Team Lead in the PCU provides leadership to LPNs in delivering patient care using a team nursing approach. This role involves collaboration in assessing nursing care needs and delegating responsibilities within the team's scope of practice. Critical thinking, effective communication, and certifications in BLS and ACLS are essential for success in this position.
Works with LPNs to provide direct guidance of patient care using a team nursing approach. The RN team lead collaborates with LPNs to facilitate ongoing assessment and determination of nursing care needs based on collection and interpretation of data relevant to the health status of the patient. Supervises, teaches, and delegates to other personnel as appropriate within their scope of practice.
Required LicensesRegistered Nurse
Current Registered Nurse Licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky OR a Current Registered Nurse Licensure with a multistate compact status.Required SkillsCertifications:1. Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 90 days after hire date.2. Current American Heart Association ACLS certification or obtain within 6 months after hire date.3. Successfully pass an arrhythmia exam within 90 days after hire date.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
